Agricultural Show 2024
Our 116th Show is on Saturday 24th February 2024, from 8.30am to 4.00pm at the Foster Showgrounds, Station Road Foster.
The Foster Show is a celebration of agriculture, the foundation of many families and businesses in South Gippsland. We’re proud to offer an event true to what country shows started as - a showcase of the best stock, produce and crafts in the district and the opportunity for locals to catch up with old mates and check out what’s new in farming and their community.
Regardless of age, gender or background, there’s something for everyone at the Foster Show. After the kids have checked out their winnings in the pavilion competitions, there’s plenty of free entertainment on offer including face painting, the pet parade and the animal nursery, so they can get up close and personal with their favourite furry friends. The adults get a chance to get away from the house or work for the day, catch up with friends, compare downfalls and successes of the last year and check out what local businesses have to offer. While the oldies are there to steal the show in the pavilion with their second to none preserves and knitting, they also get the opportunity to reminisce on their days on the farm or riding their pony to school and they stroll down the Avenue of Agriculture.
If that hasn’t sold it for you, spending the day at the Foster Show is simply a great way to show your support of agriculture in Australia and your local community. The people of Foster have loved their show for over 100 years and they’re excited to share it with you!

Association Show Day Competitons
Bendigo Bank Woodchop Competition.
10.30am to 3pm on Show Day
Thanks to the Foster and Toora Community Bank, we’re excited to host a crowd favourite, woodchopping competition at the 2024 Foster Show! Run by the South and Central Gippsland Axemen’s Association, it’s sure to be an action-packed, must see event.
VYUFDA Foster Show Working Dog Trial
8am – 4pm on Show Day
Don't miss this showcase of the bond between man and dog. Competitors travel from all over the state to challenge their dog's ability. Thanks to Beloka Kelpies of Welshpool for coordinating this showday favourite!
Cat Show
All day in the basketball stadium
For the first time at the Foster Show in 2024 we’ll host some of Victoria’s most beautiful cats for all the public to enjoy. Thanks to the Governing Council of the Cat Fancy Aust & Vic Inc for running this event!

Getting to the show. Foster Showgrounds, Station Road, Foster.
From Melbourne
Travel east on the South Gippsland Hwy towards Yarram. Turn right towards the township of Foster. Turn left at the main intersection (Station Road). The Showgrounds are located on the left before the South Gippsland Hospital.
From Yarram
Travel west on the South Gippsland Hwy towards Melbourne. Turn left towards the township of Foster. Turn left at the main intersection (Station Road). The Showgrounds are located on the left before the South Gippsland Hospital.
Via Public Transport
Whilst a car is by far the best way to explore South Gippsland, the VLINE BUS travels between Foster and Melbourne a few times each day.
